We are after your waste polystyrene! CemteQ upcycles end-of-life expanded polystyrene from agriculture, packaging and other applications across South Africa, ensuring that no material goes to waste. The material is processed and treated for use as an aggregate in lightweight concrete.
Expanded polystyrene has long been a staple in the agricultural and nursery sector for seedling trays. Despite its widespread use, effectively recycling the material is often a problem due to contamination and logistics challenges. Seedling trays can now be recycled even when contaminated with soil. We are hoping this will encourage wider participation among farmers and nurseries. A logistics network has also been established to ensure efficient collection and transportation of used EPS.
