Perlite
CemteQ construction-grade perlite
Perlite is an inorganic material with excellent thermal insulation properties, exceptional lightweight and fireproof characteristics and a very low carbon footprint. Not only does exfoliated perlite meet the highest sustainable construction standards but it does not rot or decay over time, is chemically inert, non-combustible, odourless and pH neutral.
Perlite is heat processed and expanded to create a frothy white glassy material comprising countless tiny bubbles. In essence, exfoliated perlite can be likened to a silicious ‘rice crispy’. It is supplied loose in 100l bags with a bulk density of 70-80kg/m2. The thermal resistance of loose perlite is roughly 10x that of sand and stone.
This unique, eco-friendly material also behaves like sand and stone and has been widely used with cement for decades in the Middle East, Europe and the USA for the following:
Lightweight, insulating wall plaster
Cavity wall insulation
Decorative applications and moulding
Lightweight, insulating screeds
Lightweight, insulating,
fire-resistant cladding
