Perlite Screeds
ScreedLite Lightweight, Insulating Perlite-Based Screed
ScreedLite is an insulating, lightweight, perlite-based composite screed that comprises a special blend of exfoliated perlite and cementitious materials and offers approximately 7x the insulation properties with 20-25% of the weight of conventional screed materials. It offers the following advantages:
Approximately 7 times the insulation properties of ordinary screeds, saving significantly on heating and cooling costs
Weighs approximately 20-25% of
traditional screed materials
Dampens noise,
particularly pulsed sounds
Fire protection
for up to 4 hours
Inorganic, non-toxic and
environment-friendly
Inorganic, non-toxic and
environment-friendly
Screedlite is commonly used on concrete roof slabs as a lightweight, insulating screed to provide slopes-to-fall for water run-off as well as in underfloor heating applications to prevent downward heat loss, thereby saving significantly on energy costs. The optimal cost:performance ratio is at a thickness of 30mm-70mm.
For applications with a minimum thickness of 70-100mm, CemteQ lightweight concrete mixes are often used. These are preblended and bagged with densities from 500 -1650kg/m3 and relative strengths from 1 to 20MPa.
