A shopping mall in Steelpoort has opted to use CemteQ’s silica sand-based, fibre-reinforced plaster premix to repair existing cracked and friable plaster. The walls were prepared with a bonding slurry using Stanton Construction Chemicals’ Grip Key for plaster, river sand and cement to ensure good adhesion to the brick wall. PlasterteQ was then applied at an average thickness of 10-12 with 6mm PET fibre-reinforcing. PlasterteQ is a preblended plaster comprising a special blend of the fine dried silica sand, cement and admixtures for high quality internal and external plaster. It offers excellent workability and can be used on a wide range of substrates including clay, concrete and lightweight blocks. It is applied as a one coat plaster using plaster best practice and, using a steel float, a super-smooth finish is achievable.
