Getting levels right without overloading suspended slabs is often a challenge. CemteQ recently supplied lightweight concrete walling with a density of 650kg/m3 for erection on an existing slab with load limitations at the Park Station. PlasterteQ was again used on these walls. In addition, a relatively lightweight, medium strength concrete infill at 140mm thick was required on the Bondek system for this project. Loading was limited to 1600kg/m3 and a strength of 21 MPa was achieved with the addition of sand to the lightweight mix. The challenges of site access in a live train station were solved by providing the product in pre-blended bags which were mixed using a conventional drum mixer and placed in-situ.
