Based on a 1600kg/m³ mix design by Go-Consult, CemteQ recently supplied 100m³ of lightweight polystyrene aggregate to Triangle Readymix for lightweight roof slabs at the Meyerton Mall. The material was supplied in 1 m³ bulk bags and was pumped onto rooftop slab with a boom pump. The concrete was designed to achieve a compressive strength of 20 MPa. In addition to its lightweight qualities, one of the primary advantages of polystyrene concrete is its high thermal insulation characteristics.
