Following the successful construction of a showroom to demonstrate the advantages over dry-walling, CemteQ has recently completed the first phase of the refurbishment of a hotel near OR Tambo International Airport for a major hotel group. The entire refurbishment project comprises approximately 5000m2 of our 100mm thick and 140mm lightweight Q-blocks. In addition to the lightweight walling, CemteQ is supplying its PlasterteQ fibre-reinforced plaster as well as its Screedlite perlite-based lightweight screed and Flex-e-guard waterproofing for the shower floors. A special thin-bed mortar recently introduced by CemteQ is being used throughout as speed of erection is critical to meet project timelines. Phase 1, comprising 116 rooms, was completed in just over 2 months.
